Polls
  • With the prodigy polls not being made I would assume because collegelax.us did them (if I am wrong with this info my mistake) will lacrosse all-stars try and make their own transparent poll so we can have a credible ranking of teams? I hope so but if anyone has any more information about this it would be nice to hear.
  • Prodigy was the sponsor for the Coaches Poll that Collegelax.us helped put together but to be a voter they did have to be a MCLA coach. Clearly, the MCLA still needs to have a Coaches Poll as it is used by the SC to pick At Large bids as well as seed teams at nationals.

So Insert (Media Outlet) sponsored by (Corporate Sponsor) Coaches Poll. Keep the transparency and thus the validity. Ideally the media outlet picking it up would be able to play nicely with mcla.us avoiding the collegelax/MCLA fiasco. Personally I would love to see a "MCLA Coaches Poll presented by LaxAllStars" or because the MCLA controls the MCLA Lax Mag take over that questionable poll with the new Coaches Poll and then LaxAllStars could do a Media Poll to supplement.
  • The Colleglax/Prodigy poll is being revamped, and will come out again using almost all the same coaches. It will be slightly changed (improved) but for the most part, it will be run by the same people, be made up of the same voters, and most likely (I think) carry the same weight.

  • From Jac Coyne's Twitter: "There are three websites that have put in bids to host the MCLA poll that will be used by selection committee. Decision expected next week."
  • When will the stone tablets be carried down from Coyne Mountain?
  • and I'll excuse his use of the passive voice when I ask...who makes said "decision?"

  • Yah. We need some polls to liven up this forum. More interesting than the endless polling for the republican primaries and probably about as accurate and meaningful.
  • Any thoughts on Laxpower computer rankings?
  • Reply to @LaxFan: I like Laxpower's rankings but I don't think it would be good for it to be the primary poll. But if the MCLA did want to use a computer poll, Massey's ranking is a lot closer to actual game scores.
  • Reply to @ChrisCurtis: I would be interested to see how much the Lax Power rankings contribute to the coaches’ poll. I mean it has to carry some weight as teams from the PCLL don’t really see SLC teams too much.
  • Reply to @SteveBlair: It might be nice for the MCLA to pick up the Laxpower and Massey computer rankings and show them side by side with the coaches poll. Similar to the way ESPN shows all of the various NCAA football polls on their website.
