  • 1. BYU - They return about their whole team including top scorer; Ted Ferrin.
    2. Chapman - This may surprise people, but they return most of their team including their top scorer.
    3. ASU - They also return most of their team, but lose their top scorer.
    4. CSU - They return their top scorer and goalie, but playing in a real tough conference will be a challenge.
    5. FSU
    6. Texas - I think this is Texas' year to go DEEP. They return everybody but about 6-8 players, and top scorer Spencer Price is back and their starting goalie. The Longhorns also went 15-1 overall and 5-0 in a solid conference. But I think they have the same problem as Oregon, they dont play the hardest teams so they aren't really prepared when they get to the tourney, hence the 15-8 loss to Chapman.
    7. Cal Poly - I like Cal Poly here because they return alot of players including their top scorer and goalie. And not only are they constantly good, but they play in a challenging conference and are consistently good.
    8. Oregon - Oregon are constantly good, but I don't feel like playing in a pretty easy conference (Besides Simon Fraser) will really prepare them for the National Tourney. They scheduled games against alot of top-25 teams, so that should help.
    9. Colorado
    10. Boston College
    11. SUNY Buffalo - This will be the year that the Bulls will finally beat BC and take the #1 seed on the PCLL.
    12. Michigan State
    13. Clemson
    14. Central Flo. - UCF is a young team that returns just about all their players. Their only losses were to NCAA Rollins College and FSU twice. If they can get over and past FSU, they'll be a team to beat.
    15. UCSB - They are a pretty dominant team in conference, but can't really get wins outside, they'll need to fix that.
    16. VT
17 . South Carolina - A team that wasn't in the final MCLA poll, the Gamecocks dominated almost everyone in conference and only suffered losses to Clemson by 1 and FSU twice.
    18. Illinois
    19. Stanford
    20. Simon Fraser - They return their goalie and MCLA scoring leader Calvin Craig....Nuff' said.
    21. Mizzou - The whole coaching change situation will be interesting, we'll see how it affects the Tigers
    22. Wisconsin - Lost in the GRLC semis to Illinois and finished the regular season 10-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
    23. Arizona
    24. Pitt
    25. UC Davis

Don't get mad if you disagree, this is just my opinion...

Want to go a little further on how your logic works?
  • Reply to @xthechamp: SUNY Buffalo did beat BC in the tourny to get the AQ. Which by the way I called in the preseason MCLA The Lax Mag round table

  • 1. BYU, just about the whole team comes back. Teddy can shake anybody, one slippery brah right thur. Dan is a big loss at the face-off X. Casey Rich is a great addition to a solid team.
    2. Chaptown, Andrew Clayton back = offensive production.
    3. ASU, look for a more balanced team with Ryan gone.
    4. CSU, might be the year to relive the glory days. Kehoe is gone, tough to replace.
    5. Michigan State, nobody to steal the limelight in state anymore.

  • Reply to @zharris: Utah at 10 is a laugher. They had 2 good players last year and they both graduated. They won't be ranked at the end of the year.

  • Reply to @MCLAFan88: One can dream.

  • Im going with the MCLA DII Rankings here:

1.Davenport- Minus Beer, but a much better team then last year. Midseason had some problems but came together as one to complete the mission.
2.GVSU- Yes they lost Holding but Dumsa is going to pick up the slack and with that stingy defense, its going to be very interesting.
    3. Dayton- The Red Army is going to roll with a high power offense but the question relys within the defense and goalies.
4.St. Thomas- Despite the fall out in the championship the Tommies have something to prove this year and without the face of the program and possibly the MCLA in Costello.
    5. Briarcliffe- They return 98% of the roster with a stifling defense and high potent attack line lead by Bonacore.
    6. St.Johns
    7. Westmister
    8. Western Oregon
    9. North Dakato State
    10. SCAD
    11. North Colarado
    12. Utah Valley
    13. MOBAP
    14. Hope
    15. Elon
    16. Sam Houston
    17. Coast Guard
    18. Cal State Fullerton
    19. Kennesaw State
    20. Indiana Tech
    21. Western Washington
    22. Concordia
    23. Wash-St. Louis
    24. US San Diego
    25. Universty Of California-Sant Cruz
  • CSU lost Kehoe who was their #1 scorer last season. Their #2 and #3 return, and Fisher at attack will be the man now for points. They are reloading, it's one deep roster from what I've heard. Defense and goaltending both look better at this point.

Rumors of a stud D1 LSM transfer too, which would be good because their senior LSM is gone.

Have to have BYU as the front runner. Then ASU, CSU right behind.
  • 1. BYU - defending national champs, top three in points returning.
    2. CSU - loses top scorer as well as starting goalie.
    3. Chapman - Very young team, looks to return majority of point contributors, losing players 2nd and 6th in points.
    4. ASU - One more Westfall brother remains. Team will operate differently on offense with the loss of Westfall and Nelson (top two in points)
    5. Cal Poly - Returns starting goalie and top two in points.
    6. Colorado
    7. Michigan State
    8. Oregon - loses starting goalie and #1 in points
    9. UCSB
    10. BU
  • Reply to @rick_roll: BU supposed to be BC?
  • 1. St. Thomas (should consider going d1)
    2. Davenport (should not go d1)
    3. Grand valley
    4. North Dakota state
    5. Dayton
    6. Briarcliffe
    7. Westminster
    8. St. Johns
    9. Utah Valley
    10. SCAD
    11. Western Oregon
    12. Northern Colorado
    13. Sam Houston State
    14. Elon
    15. Hope

  • Reply to @Chillax: Why do you think Davenport should not go D1?
  • regarding CSU, they did lose #1 scorer and starting goalie. But I hear the big tall goalie who finished up the game w/BYU in the semis and is now a sophomore, is probably a step up. Kehoe will awfully tough to replace but all 3 starting defenders return including the 3rd team AA back there.

Losing their faceoff guy might be the toughest replacement they have to make.
  • D2-

    1- Davenport
    2- Grand Valley
    3- St. Thomas
    4- Dayton
    5- Briarcliffe
    6- Westminister
    7- St. Johns
    8- NDSU
    9- Western Oregon
    10- Utah Valley
    11- SCAD
    12- Sam Houston State
    13- Northern Colorado
    14- Missouri Babtist
    15- Hope
  • Seems to me like BYU has to be the top choice right now.

But do people really think ASU will be back with a strong season? Westfall and Nelson are HUGE graduation losses IMHO.
